FAQ:
*What is process-based arts instruction? When we say “process-based” at TCT we mean that we emphasize the journey over the destination. We believe that by teaching students how to do things, rather than to replicate someone else’s work, we create well-rounded and creative artists, rather than strictly performers. An example of this is our students will learn to write and produce their own original student-led works rather than work from an existing script.
**What is the difference between a professional teaching artist and a teacher? In order to be considered a professional teaching artist at TCT, you must be an active working professional actor, as well as an educator. This means all of the learners who pass through TCT are getting relevant and real-time information directly from working professionals in Cleveland’s theatrical community. All of our professional teaching artists also receive regular training in subjects like classroom management, universal design for learning, trauma-informed care, and more engaged pedagogy practices to ensure they bring the expertise of both a professional artist and a teacher to the students they serve at TCT.

End of Camp Informances: At the end of our Winter Camp session, your campers will present a small informance (informal + performance) during which you are welcome to join us. Our informance will take place on Saturday, January 6th at 3:30. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to attend these free presentations, though all informances will be recorded and shared digitally to participants so families can still view the informance without being at TCT.
