We Believe in the Power of Storytelling

Accepting interest for our board of directors

Talespinner Children’s Theatre is looking for community members who believe in the power of storytelling, creativity, and arts access for children and families.

 

We are growing our Board of Directors and seeking individuals who are ready to support our mission through leadership, advocacy, fundraising, and community connection.

 

We are especially interested in meeting people with experience in:

  • fundraising and donor development

  • banking or finance

  • event planning

  • arts and culture

  • education and youth-serving organizations

  • marketing, communications, legal, or HR

We invite interested people to join us at one of our info sessions scheduled in June 2026. If you cannot attend an info session, you can request a meeting with the Board Chair at chair@TaleSpinnerCle.org. The info sessions are not required to submit an interest form but are encouraged.

  • June 9, 6-7pm – Info session, Virtual
  • June 17, 7-8pm – Info Session, The Pivot Center

Board Expectations

Serving on the board is an opportunity to help shape the future of a creative and impactful organization while making a difference in the lives of young people and families.

 

Board members are expected to:

  • commit to 3 year term (which is renewable)

  • attend regular monthly board meetings (Monthly, 3rd Wednesdays, 6-7pm, In-Person)

  • attend Board Retreat, scheduled in September on a Saturday

  • attend at least one performance of each public show

  • attend special events (i.e. fundraisers, season announcements)
  • serve on at least one committee or working group

  • support fundraising efforts

  • make a personally meaningful annual contribution (i.e. financial, expert time)

  • act as an ambassador for Talespinner in the community

2026 Board Selection Timeline

  • June 9, 6-7pm – Info session, Virtual, RSVP here

  • July 1 – Priority review of Interest Forms begins
  • July 2-16 – Individual Meetings with Executive Director and Board Chair
  • July 17 – Notifications of Board decisions
  • Aug 22, hold 9am-5pm – Board Retreat, The Pivot Center
  • Sept 16, 6-7pm – First official board meeting, The Pivot Center
